About Us


Our Mission Statement

The missions of the Physical Disabilities Branch are to develop and disseminate innovative rehabilitation technologies; to conduct basic and translational research into the causal relationship that links the impairment, functional limitation, and physical disability rehabilitation research domains; to conduct clinical research into the efficacy of rehabilitation interventions; to provide training for investigators in these areas; and to be a resource to investigators and patient care providers.



Our Vision Statement

      The Physical Disabilities Branch will:

  • Conduct rehabilitation research to improve the lives of people with physical disabilities and reduce the cost of health care.

  • Achieve international recognition as a center of excellence in rehabilitation technology development, research, and training.

  • Create a cooperative work environment for a multidisciplinary team that promotes personal and professional growth and allows employees and colleagues to identify and effect positive change.

  • Support and execute the highest quality rehabilitation research and technology development activities in the most cost effective manner 100 percent of the time.

  • Provide safe and effective clinical support services that meet clinician expectations and quality assurance standards 100 percent of the time.
