Small plastic spheres, typically
ranging in diameter from 1/4 to 1 inch and covered with highly reflective
material, are placed at specific locations on the subject's body using mild
adhesive or elastic wrappings. The particular study being conducted may dictate their specific placement, but generally the markers are placed on joint locations (such as hips, knees, and elbows) and on segments of the subject's limbs (lower legs and thighs for example).
